The Foundation of the IADC seeks to have a significant impact on the civil justice system. It works to serve as a platform for educating the public and the legal community on current litigation issues and supporting the integrity of the legal system throughout the world. With the support of individual member, law firm, and corporate donations, The Foundation of the IADC continues to develop new projects and initiatives to advance the legal system.
In recent years, The Foundation launched
The Joan Fullam Irick Privacy Project, a three-volume assessment of current legal issues related to privacy. It supported the highly useful
Practical Guide for Insurance Defense Lawyers. The Foundation has been able to increase funds supporting the Gary Walker Memorial Scholarship for a deserving Trial Academy student. It sponsors highly respected speakers for the annual Foundation Forum, including our 2010 speaker, Honorable Sandra Day O'Connor, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (Ret.).
Please make a contribution today and help The Foundation support the advancement of the civil justice system.

Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and Our Courts
The Midyear Meeting not only provided a special opportunity to hear Justice O'Connor speak, but it was the kick off for The Foundation's partnership with her special project, Our Courts The Foundation is looking for IADC members to serve as state coordinators to assist in spreading the word on this program and its games and lesson plans that are designed to help bring civics education back into the classroom. The Foundation partners with Our Courts program
The Foundation of the IADC is proud to announce its support and partnership with Our Courts. Spearheaded by the Honorable Sandra Day O’Connor, Our Courts is a web-based education project designed to reinvigorate civics teaching and learning. Our Courts features free lesson plans, interactive modules, and games. With these tools, Our Courts will help empower the first generation of ‘digital natives’ to become knowledgeable civic participants and leaders. The Foundation is working with the assistance of IADC members to promote Our Courts and bring it into classrooms across the United States. Lawyers interested in helping with Our Courts should visit the Our Courts Web site for more information and a guide for volunteering in the classroom.
